Quality assured, sustainably produced wood fuel is now available to Irish consumers 

The Wood Fuel Quality Assurance Scheme applies to Wood Logs, Wood Briquettes, Wood Pellets and Wood Chip. Wood fuel products with the WFQA label assures the consumer that the wood fuel is:

  >Carbon Neutral
  >Sourced from Sustainably Managed Forests
  >Compliant with relevant Irish and EU standards
  >Independently tested and certified in Ireland.

The Wood Fuel Quality Assurance Scheme is based on a National Workshop Agreement (NWA), developed by a representative group of wood fuel industry members, in collaboration with Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM); Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI); National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI); Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT); and Irish Bioenergy Association (IrBEA).
